This handmade vintage Persian Hamedan area rug can also be used as a large runner, known as "gallery size".  It has an intricate tribal and floral design with a beautiful central medallion as its focal point.  Its versatile size makes it great for an area in front of a couch or a bed, a foyer, a child's room or a large and wide hallway.  The rug is in mint condition, handmade in the 1980s with fine quality wool and expert craftsmanship.  The central medallion is the floral heart of the rug in a beautiful shade of red that combines cherry red and strawberry red with its natural variations in dyes, known as 'abrash'. Resplendent with its pale petals of peach, yellow, sage and olive green, its lemonade pink and charcoal gray and white accents, the flower is surrounded by white and full of flower details all of these same colors, which continue as the main accent colors throughout the rug's red backdrop. The trellis-like motifs provide a frame for the intricate geometric shapes that fill the rug right up the beautiful border. A dramatic black border has a large striking floral and vine pattern in shades of red, burgundy, rust, pink, grays and greens,  surrounded by thin olive green rows with their own charming small flowers on the vine.  This rug is handmade with a full and soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  Size: 5'7"x10'6"
