French rose, fruit punch, plum, watermelon, lavender, magenta, jam - so many luscious colors, mixed together in a unique and charming manner. This rug is a perfect example of abrash, the natural variations in color that occur in vintage & antique handmade rugs that use natural dyes. The overall pattern is a series of intricate repeating geometric motifs known as "botehs", a precursor to paisley. These are rested on a purple & black backdrop, surrounded by multiple borders with highly detailed floral and tribal motifs.
