It feels lush underfoot, can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The tribal and geometric repeating design is known as "elephant foot".  This rug is particularly unique for its colorway -- black with eggplant/purple undertones throughout. The backdrop is intricately adorned with elephant feet and other geometric motifs known as "guls" which usually represent natural elements such as lakes and mountains. The accents and designs are hand-knotted in white, red and copper not only throughout the main area of the rug but also in the multiple borders with their equally detailed fine geometric shapes.
