This is a vintage handmade tribal Persian Finest Baluch accent rug with charming animal and floral details. Hand-knotted by Baluchi weavers in the 1980s using fine quality wool that has a sheen to it and natural dyes, this rug is a fine quality piece that has a soft, full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The champagne backdrop is adorned with rows of repeating small, tribal flower motifs alternating with rows of charming animals, likely birds of different varieties. The flowers are a rich cherry red with surprisingly delicate details in sapphire, black, white and orange. The birds alternate between black with red, white and blue accents or red with black and white accents. All of this is beautifully framed by several thin ribbons of intricate geometric wave-like and floral details in black and white on cherry red. This rug is slightly distressed - there are several areas where the red dyes run onto the champagne background - see last photo for close-up. These minor imperfections make the rug unique, truly one of a kind, and a great bargain! Size: 4'6"x7'1"
