This is an absolutely spectacular vintage Persian Esefehan.  Top quality craftsmanship, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and extremely fine quality silk and wool make for a superior quality rug.  Handmade in the 1970s, this vintage piece is in mint condition and will continue to last generations. The precision and beauty of the medallion and floral details throughout the rug and its borders are breathtaking.  A rich red with a magenta undertone is the background for a stunning medallion in periwinkle blue, ivory, copper, camel, mint green and cocoa, midnight blue, dusty rose and sage green with floral and vine motifs cascading from the center and filling the rug with elegant swirling flowers and leaves in these same colors.  The ivory, camel and periwinkle corners draw the eye to the beautiful border of midnight blue, framed by thin ribbons of ivory and periwinkle, each layer lovingly adorned with delicate flowers on the vine.
