This semi-antique Persian Esefehan is made on a silk base with Manchester wool, also known as 'kork', an extremely high quality wool that is made of the softest parts of the lamb's wool. The rug was hand-knotted in the 1970s/1980s and is in mint condition. The rug also has a high knot count, or KPSI (knots per square inch), which makes for extremely fine detail, as evidenced by the photos of the back of the rug. The traditional Esefehan design has a stunning pomegranate central medallion with lime green, pale orange and sky blue accents that radiate onto the ivory background. The multiple borders, with their intricate and elegant designs, are full of even more glorious colors, such as teal, peach, indigo and azure. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Size: 5'x7'8"
