Absolutely spectacular antique Persian Esefehan.  Top quality craftsmanship, signed by a master weaver, this rug has a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and is handmade of extremely fine quality silk and wool on a silk base.  Handmade in the 1970s, this rug is in mint condition. The precision and beauty of the medallion and floral details throughout the rug and its borders make for a piece that looks almost painted it is so detailed.  An ivory background hosts a stunning medallion in periwinkle blue, mauve, cornflower blue and olive green. The exquisite floral and vine details that cascade out from the medallion include small birds in flight in turquoise and taupe. The border repeats the floral and bird pattern in a larger format and the same colorway.  This is an exquisite rug that can be used on the floor or hung as a tapestry.  Size:  5'2"x8'1"
