Extremely fine antique Persian Esefehan. Handmade in the 1960s and in perfect condition, this rug is made with silk and fine wool, extraordinary craftsmanship and a very high knot count (or KPSI, knots per square inch). This masterpiece of floral design has an exquisite central medallion and is hand-knotted in vivid shades of burnt orange, cornflower blue, sea green, teal, mint green, pink and ivory, periwinkle, midnight blue, silver, ivory, olive, taupe, purple, cocoa, rust and countless other colors, all woven using only vegetable and other natural dyes. This is a stunning piece that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations. The one minor imperfection is the abrash, or natural variation in vegetable dye, that occurs in the orange border. It is a very light shift in one section symmetrically on both sides. Size: 8'5"x11'5"
