This is a top of the line vintage handmade Persian Bidjar.   The stunning highly detailed design is both floral and geometric, with a gorgeous medallion and ornate detailing throughout.  The rug is also made with double knots and a high knot count (KPSI, knots per square inch), so it is extremely dense, thick and sturdy -- earning the Bidjar name of "iron rug".  This is a uniquely top quality rug that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations.  The wool is fine quality, the craftsmanship is superb, and the colors are made from only natural dyes.   Hand-knotted in the 1950s, this rug is in remarkably perfect condition,  known as mint condition.   The fine and elegant floral details are hand-knotted in a gorgeous array of colors: sky blue, royal blue, periwinkle blue, teal, ivory, olive, grape, rose, raspberry, dusty rose, slate blue, violet and countless other colors made from natural dyes.
