This is a stunning top quality vintage Persian Bidjar, hand-knotted in the 1970's and in mint condition.  The tribal & floral medallion design is a hallmark of Bidjar rugs, known for their brilliant colors and incredibly detailed designs, along with fine craftsmanship and double knots that give them the name "iron rugs".  The fine quality wool and the full dense pile can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations.  The intricate geometric and flower designs are hand-knotted in shades of pink and blue on a rich cherry red background. The central medallion is a spectacular flower in lemonade pink, ivory, shell pink, midnight blue and sapphire.  These same accent colors appear throughout the rug, forming an intricate repeating small flower and lattice-like design, adding peach, silver, indigo blue, heather gray, sky blue, lavender and pale turquoise  to the color palette. All colors are made from only natural dyes.  The spectacular midnight blue corners with pale blue flourishes and pink and blue flowers lead to the midnight blue border with its own larger floral and vine pattern in all of the rug's colors, with thin ivory  ribbons of small colorful flowers framing it on either side.  Size: 7'4"x10'8"
