This is a truly stunning and hard to find handmade Persian Bidjar of the finest quality, hand-knotted in the 1950s and in mint condition.  This rug has a tribal and floral design with a beautiful medallion and intricate motifs throughout the field and borders.  It is made with very fine wool, made from the softest parts of the lamb, and it has a thick, supple and sturdy pile can withstand high traffic and will last generations. Double-knotted with fine craftsmanship, this rug is known as an "iron rug" for its durability.  The background color is best described as cerise pink or French rose, a beautiful, rich and saturated color.  Equally as dramatic, the rug has a lush, ebony border with an elegant ribl repeating design that really pops against the black.  And then there is the medallion, a spectacular tribal flower in Tiffany blue, teal, aquamarine, silver and a smoky sky blue. Pops of bright orange and pink coral adorn the medallion.  These colors continue as accents in the rug's open field,  which is echoed in the corners and the border.  The rich barn red background is host to intricate flowers and lattice and vines in the same rich colors.  The border is a beautiful compliment in rustic shades of burgundy and dusty rose with ribbons of small flowers to frame the rug.
