This is a vintage and rare masterpiece: a handmade square Persian Bidjar in mint condition and extremely fine quality with spectacular and hard to find colors in an allover design. This pattern is known as a "fish design", with intricate details in a glorious array of colors that become more clear as you get closer. This rug has a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and was hand-knotted using fine quality wool and expert craftsmanship. The pile is so thick and dense it is known as an "iron rug" with a soft and very sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The midnight blue background is a dramatic and elegant setting for the intricate and delicate allover pattern in bright spring-like shades of blues and pinks: periwinkle blue, dusty rose, shell pink, coral, sea green, mint green, silver, lime green, cranberry, grass green, olive green and countless other colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. The border is a masterpiece in and of itself, with multiple layers of complementary pattern and color that frame the rug perfectly with small repeating flowers in green and sapphire on a rose backdrop surrounding larger flowers on the vine in silver, pink and blue in a row of ivory, which lightens the rug and picks up the light accents throughout. This is a special and unique piece that will transform any room.
