This is a very fine quality Persian Baluch prayer rug/accent rug that was hand-knotted by expert Baluchi tribal weavers using fine quality wool, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) for precise details. and only natural dyes.  This rug was designed as a prayer rug with its mosque-like turret and outline defining the rug's central design, but it can also be used as an accent rug or a tapestry, thrown over a couch or a chair. The intricate geometric and tribal motifs that adorn the rug add beautiful details that will continue to emerge and delight as you get closer to the rug. The main pattern of the rug is the mosque handmade of midnight blue and copper repeating motifs ion a muted red backdrop with a midnight blue outline for the structure. The highly detailed concentric borders surround the mosque and continue right to the edge, in layers of highly detailed small repeating designs in lime green, sage green, gold, dark plum, camel, mocha and other colors, all highlighted by bright white accents.  This rug is made of fine, soft lambswool, which gives it a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. here is some minor color running in the central architectural design. This is barely noticeable and adds to the rug's one of a kind handmade nature. It also makes for a great price for a beautiful piece!
