This is a handmade fine quality Persian Baluch accent rug, small runner or tapestry/wall hanging. The rug is made with quality wool and excellent craftsmanship by Baluchi tribal weavers. It has a thick, soft and supple pile that will last for generations and can withstand high traffic areas. The geometric allover design appears to be red and black against an ivory backdrop, but upon closer inspection, there are several other colors in the highly detailed design. The intricate and charming motifs, including the ram's horn and flowers, have unexpected pops of color in orange, emerald green, plum, and pink. The colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. The geometric designs continue throughout the border, one of the rug's special features. The thick red frame is composed of ten rows of intriguing repeating tribal motifs. This rug, while new, has some areas of color running, where the red dye has run into the ivory areas. These minor imperfections are what make this rug such a great price. They also give it character, and that authentic one of a kind look and feel. Size: 3'4"x6'8"
