This vintage handmade Persian Baluch accent rug was hand-knotted by tribal weavers with a soft, sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. This is a fine quality rug made with high quality wool.  The design is a beautiful interconnected pattern of red and ivory geometric motifs known as 'guls', which often represent natural elements such as mountains or lakes. These guls alternate from red on white to white on red in a very contemporary and bold design, each one edged in midnight blue.  The complementary border of wave-like motifs in midnight blue and burgundy on cherry red frame a series of charming small tribal designs. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This rug has one area of distress, where there is color running from the red to the white, creating a small patch of pink. This irregularity (see last photo for close-up) is what makes this rug truly unique and also a bargain!  Size: 3'x5'7"
