This is a fine quality vintage handmade Persian Baluch, It was hand-knotted using fine soft wool that has a sturdy pile, can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The tribal and geometric design is known as "elephant foot", a hallmark of rugs from this region. The elegant champagne backdrop has a sheen to it in the light, and it is a striking contrast to the bold geometric medallions in rich shades of bright red with royal blue, bright white, burgundy, copper and emerald green accents. Note the intricate geometric details inside the elephant's feet and surrounding them, filling the rug with pops of color and charming small geometric designs. The borders have their own repeating small wave-like geometric motifs in three concentric rows of red and champagne, with royal blue, orange and emerald green accents. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. A versatile size, this rug is great for an entrance, bedside, office, child's room, kitchen and any space that needs some tribal color and style. The rug has some minor areas of distress, which is what makes it such a bargain. See last photo for close-up of the small spots where the knots are in a darker color. Size: 3'4"x5'11"
