This is a fine quality vintage handmade Persian Baluch accent rug. It was hand-knotted using fine soft wool that creates a notably thick and soft sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The tribal and geometric design is known as "elephant foot", a hallmark of rugs from this region. The camel backdrop is an elegant and striking contrast to the bold geometric medallions in vibrant beautiful colors: bright cherry red, brilliant teal, lime green, olive green, orange and midnight blue. Note the intricate geometric details inside the elephant's feet and surrounding them, filling the rug with pops of green color and charming small geometric designs. The border is made up of three rows of repeating small geometric motifs with more of the bright green and teal accents. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This rug has distressed areas (see last photos for close ups), which is what makes it such a great bargain. Note that there are a few tiny areas of low pile and the binding is slightly distressed in some areas. The rug is completely intact and will continue to last generations. Size: 3'3"x4'10"
