This is a vintage handmade Persian Baluch, a tribal and geometric accent rug in mint condition. This rug is fine quality, hand-knotted with soft lambswool that gives it a soft sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The overall pattern is a repeating geometric star motif, alternating with tribal medallions known as 'guls' that often represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains.  This versatile rug, although vintage, has a very contemporary design that would be great as an entrance rug, a bedside rug, a kitchen or child's room, and would also make a special gift.  The pattern is hand-knotted in royal blue, pink coral, pale orange, bright pink, mint green, white and burgundy. The overall effect is alternating rows of pink and blue stars and flowers. The colors are muted, with the patina that only comes from handmade vintage rugs. The border is a fantastic feature of the rug, a complementary series of burgundy, blue and pink coral rows of repeating wave like motifs and tiny mint green polka dots.  The colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  Size: 3'6"x5'9"
