This is a fine quality brand new handmade Persian Baluch accent rug.  It was hand-knotted using fine soft wool that creates a sturdy pile, can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The tribal and geometric design is known as "elephant foot", a hallmark of rugs from this region.  The inky midnight blue backdrop is unique for this style rug, and appears black until closer inspection.  It is a dramatic contrast to the bold geometric medallions in bright orange and red with white, burgundy, emerald green and ivory accents.  Note the intricate geometric details inside the elephant's feet and the charming flower motifs surrounding them, filling the rug with pops of color and intriguing designs. The borders have their own repeating small wave-like geometric motifs in rows of red and midnight blue with pops of green.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.
