This is a brand new and fine quality handmade Persian Baluch accent rug. This rug was hand-knotted by expert Baluchi tribal weavers with a beautiful and unique allover design of alternating flowers and tribal paisleys known as "botehs", an ancient precursor to paisley that is found in many tribal textiles from around the world. It was often used to represent life/eternity as a symbol of nature. The colorful flowers and paisleys are detailed and finely knotted in cherry red, grass green, bright cobalt clue, orange, copper, burgundy, black and bright white on a shimmering ivory backdrop for rather dramatic effect. All colors are made from only natural, vegetable dyes. The border is a series of rows of wave-like repeating motifs. Handmade with 100% lambswool, this rug has a soft full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. Size: 3'1"x6'1"
