This fine quality brand new handmade Persian Baluch was hand-knotted by expert Baluchi tribal weavers.  Rugs such as these have been made for generations.  The geometric medallion design is known as "elephant foot", a hallmark of rugs from this region.  Strawberry red is the backdrop for the bold repeating motifs in ivory and copper, deep plum and navy blue.  The intricate geometric motifs both within and surrounding the elephant feet resemble arrows and ram's horns, bringing the pattern to life.  The border is deep plum with a geometric repeating design in copper, red and blue, that resembles stained glass window patterns.  It creates the perfect frame without competing with the primary rug design. Note the final edge of repeating colorful chevrons with white accents - adding decorative elements right to the edge!  Made by hand with 100% fine lambswool and only natural dyes, this rug has a very soft pile and can withstand high traffic.  It will last generations.  The versatile size makes for a great gift, or a perfect rug for an entrance, hallway, kitchen, child's room, foyer, bathroom, office, etc.  Size: 2'10"x4'8"
