This fine quality handmade Persian Baluch accent rug was hand-knotted by expert Baluchi tribal weavers using fine quality wool, creating a soft and supple yet sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The geometric design of repeating concentric layers of tribal motifs in red, green, black and white is beautiful, symmetrical and highly detailed. The central medallion has a unique elongated shape with a red field and charming flower motifs in red, sage green, black, heather gray and white. These colors form the border for the medallion, leading to a black rectangle bursting with red flowers. This is framed by a candy cane like row of red and white, leading to multiple layers of red flowers and green and gray plant motifs. You can get lost in the layers that frame the rug and adorn the medallion. The colors are made from only natural dyes. Note that this rug has another decorative element at its edges, where there is a wide kilim or flat-weave layer before the fringe. This kilim is hand-knotted in multiple rows of black with white repeating geometric motifs and red alternating lines. Size: 2'8"x5'1"
