This handmade vintage tribal Persian Bakhtiari Four Seasons design rug with floral, bird, tree and garden motifs has a rich color palette and charming details.  This sturdy oriental rug has a full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations. The Four Seasons design is a checkerboard pattern in which each square represents one of the four seasons.  In this rug, the squares resemble windows to the garden, with views of the changing seasons through the trees, animals and flowers.  The Persians created the design because of their pride in their 4 distinct seasons, unlike other parts of the region.  The colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  Royal blue, sapphire, powder blue, tangerine, shell pink, ivory, mauve, plum, fruit punch, coral, wine, dusty rose and countless other delightful shades harmonize beautifully in this pictorial rug.  Trees, exotic birds, rabbit and other animals, flowers, leaves and other geometric patterns are framed by an ivory border with an elegant larger geometric pattern of flowers on the vine in the same colors.  You can get lost in the details.  This rug is a bargain price because of its minor imperfections. There is color running in parts of the border and the ivory squares, where the pink or other dyes bleeds into the ivory.
