This gorgeous vintage fine quality handmade Persian Ardabil runner is a show-stopper! Handmade with high quality soft lambswool and fine craftsmanship, this rug has a soft and sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The runner also has a high knot count, or KPSI (knots per square inch), which makes for very precise and crisp details.  The tribal and geometric allover design is known as "elephant foot", a hallmark of rugs from this region.  The burgundy backdrop hosts the bright strawberry red repeating geometric medallions in a beautiful combination of accent colors - sapphire blue, peach, silver, charcoal and sand with pops of white  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  Smaller tribal medallions with a ram's horn motif alternate with the elephant's feet in the same bright colors. This rug has remarkably intricate detailing, within and surrounding the elephant's feet, and beautifully displayed in the border, a special feature of the runner.  Two sapphire rows of colorful tribal flowers on the vine frame the strawberry row with a similar garland of flowers.
