This is a very special piece - an extremely fine quality vintage Persian Ardabil runner in stunning colors and a tribal & geometric design in intricate details that fill the rug with paisleys and small flowers.  The rug is made with soft, fine quality wool that is great for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations. The craftsmanship is superb, and the details are finely knotted.  The lush blueberry background is highly detailed with a fine diamond pattern that holds small floral and paisley motifs (known as botehs, the ancient precursor to today's paisley design) hand-knotted in bright colors -- orange, sky blue, fruit punch, mint green, silver, white and other colors.  The large central geometric medallion in watermelon coral echoes this diamond pattern with paisleys and flowers in pink, sea green, white and burgundy. surrounded by a striking frame of all of the rug's many colors.  The border is another special feature of this runner with its contemporary row of all of the rug's colors in small diagonal lines, framed by ribbons of gold.  Size: 3'8"x10'4"
