This elegant vintage rug was handmade in Pakistan in the 1990s by master artisans trained in traditional Persian Esefehan rug design.  Hand-knotted with top quality craftsmanship, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and extremely fine quality wool, this is a very high quality rug.  The precision and beauty of the medallion and floral details throughout the rug and its borders is striking.  An elegant ivory background hosts a stunning medallion in mauve, desert coral, midnight blue and slate blue.   The exquisite floral and vine details that cascade out from the medallion echo these striking colors, forming perfectly symmetrical and interconnected sprays of flowers and leaves and vines.  Lemonade pink, taupe, silver, fern green and other additional colors add to the beautiful floral details.  The corners perfectly mirror the medallion with mauve and blue, and the border is a thick frame of desert rose with a complementary floral and vine garland in all of the rug's colors.  This rug has one area of abrash in the ivory backdrop. Abrash is the natural variation in dyes that occurs uniquely in handmade vintage rugs made with natural dyes. Abrash adds character and interest and is a reminder of the handmade nature of the rug.   Size: 8'1"x11"6'
