This elegant vintage Esefehan design rug was handmade in Pakistan in the 1980s by artisans trained by expert weavers of traditional Persian rugs. Hand-knotted with top quality craftsmanship, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and extremely fine quality wool, this is a high quality rug. The precision and beauty of the medallion and floral details throughout the rug and its borders is striking. A deep cranberry background hosts a stunning medallion in silver, ivory, midnight blue and periwinkle blue. The exquisite floral and vine details that cascade out from the medallion echo these striking colors, which appear again in the ivory border with the addition of a pale ballet slipper pink. This rug has abrash, the natural variation in color that occurs uniquely in handmade vintage rugs made with vegetable dyes. See last photo for close-up. Abrash adds character and interest and is a reminder of the handmade nature of the rug. Size: 8'x10'
