Yellow Flowers

This is an absolutely stunning fine quality handmade vintage tribal Kazakh large runner that can also be used as an area rug. It is the "real deal" that many of today's contemporary geometric rugs try to mimic.  Hand-knotted in the 1980s by expert Kazakh tribal weavers, this rug is in mint condition.  The fine quality wool is soft and supple, with a sturdy tribal weave that will continue to last generations and can withstand high traffic.  The allover tribal and nomadic design has an abundance of intricate and charming details in brilliant colors, such as intriguing and exotic animals, leaf motifs, ram's horn motifs and pinwheel flowers.  Made with only natural dyes, the rug is an explosion of color and pattern.  The deep cherry red backdrop is the perfect background color for the series of medallions that run down the center of the rug in emerald green, steel blue and hot pink. The wonderful decorative tribal motifs that adorn and surround the central geometric medallions are hand-knotted in all of the colors listed above plus additional accents of yellow, lavender, pale pink, white, orange and countless other colors.  The natural variation in dyes that occurs in a few areas is known as abrash, a hallmark of handmade vintage rugs that use vegetable dyes.  It adds to the truly one of a kind handmade nature of the rug.  The border is a beautiful complement to the rug's design, a frame of  geometric leaf and tree motifs in all of the rug's rich colors, framed by red and green.  This is a breathtaking piece that is sure to make a statement in any space.  Size: 4'8"x8'8"
