This pattern is based on the Persian Bidjar design known as a "fish design", with intricate details in a repeating allover design in a beautiful array of colors that become more clear as you get closer. This rug is made of double knots, creating an extremely thick and sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last for generations.  The pile is so thick and dense it is like the Persian Bidjars known as "iron rugs" for their durability.  The warm tomato red background is the canvas for the intricate and delicate allover pattern in midnight blue, sky blue, white, mocha, camel, copper, fern green and countless other colors, all made from only natural dyes. The pattern is interconnected in a lattice like pattern, with small flowers and other delicate motifs including fish (which look like feathers).  The border is a masterpiece in and of itself, with a gorgeous complementary pattern on a royal blue frame, full of stunning geometric floral details in the same spectacular colors. This is surrounded by alternating thin rows in white and mint green with small repeating colorful flower and leaf motifs.
