This top quality traditional vintage Persian Nain is handmade of silk and fine wool with a very high knot count (KPSI, knots per square inch) for precise details and exquisite craftsmanship.  It is known as a 6LA (LA meaning layer) , one of the finer quality Nain rugs available.  The rug's ornately detailed floral and vine patterns surround the central medallion and fill the rug's field and borders with their intricate beauty. The lush midnight blue background is an elegant setting for a medallion of cool blues and neutrals -- taupe, ivory, camel and white are interspersed with cornflower blue, sky blue and midnight blue to create the stunning floral heart of the rug.  These are the colors that continue throughout the blue open field, creating elegant patterns of flowers on the vine, bouquets and sprays, all in perfect symmetry.  The striking corners echo the medallion in pattern and color, leading the eye to the taupe border with its own garland of flowers on the vine in the rug's neutral colors.  The rug is predominantly made with soft, fine wool and the fine silk accents shimmer in the light.  This rug was hand-knotted in the 1950s and it is in mint condition.  It can withstand traffic and will continue to last for generations.  Size: 5'5"x7'1"
