This is a stunning vintage handmade traditiional Persian Kerman. Hand-knotted in the 1970s, this rug has areas of distress in its open field (which makes for a great price for such a large fine quality rug). Hand-knotted with fine quality wool and a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch), the rug has exquisite detail in the medallion, corners and border. The rich cherry red open field is an elegant backdrop for the delicate floral sprays & bouquets in soft, muted shades of sky blue, indigo blue, gold, rose pink, dusty rose, grass green, lavender, ballet slipper pink, eggshell, mocha, sand, champagne, and other elegant colors, all made from only natural dyes. The border has a highly decorative and intricate complementary pattern with repeating bouquets of pink flowers on alternating mint green and ocean blue backdrops. The distress of this rug lies in the open field, which has several areas of low pile and worn pile, imperfections that are more apparent in certain light. See last photo for close-up. This adds to the rug's one of a kind, handmade vintage character. The rug can still withstand high traffic and will last generations. Size: 9'8"x12'6"
