This is a stunning top quality vintage Persian Heriz with geometric details and beautiful, rich colors in a classic Heriz pattern that is a favorite among designers and clients alike. This rug was handmade in the 1960's and is in mint condition.   The prominent central medallion and colorful tribal leaf and flower motifs are hand-knotted by expert tribal weavers using fine quality wool and only natural dyes.  The rug can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations.  What brings this rug to life is the incredible array of intricate details and the remarkable vibrant colors that harmonize so beautifully throughout. Each layer is resplendent with vivid colors that dance in tribal patterns and intricate geometric motifs. The tribal medallion at the heart of the rug is both red and pink, a gorgeous element of the rug known as abrash when the natural dyes have variation within the rug.  The bright white and midnight blue accents punctuate the design beautifully and show off the softer sapphire blue, fruit punch pink, champagne, plum and royal blue motifs.  This is surrounded by a layer of inky midnight blue with colorful motifs throughout, leading to the next layer of strawberry red and fruit punch pink, full of the geometric motifs in all of the accent colors with an incredible sapphire edge.  The next white layer lightens and brightens the rug, leading to the midnight blue border,  one of my favorite elements of this rug with its larger geometric flower repeating motifs in all of the rug's brilliant colors.  This is truly a top quality knockout rug that is sure to make a statement in any room.
