This vintage handmade Persian Bidjar accent rug is a very fine quality small masterpiece in a hard-to-find size that will enhance any space or serve as a very special gift.  The high quality wool is soft underfoot and the sturdy double knots make this an "iron rug" that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations.  The expert craftsmanship creates vivid and precise floral details that fill the rug with color and pattern, like a garden bursting in full bloom. A spectacular central medallion is the focal point of the rug, hand-knotted in cornflower blue and adorned with luscious red roses and additional accents in ivory, hunter green, midnight blue, bright white soft peach.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The next layer of the design is an ivory necklace surrounding the medallion, filled with a garland of red roses on the vine. This leads to rose red corners with their own small flower motifs and accents in all of the rug's colors.  The final flourish is the decorative border, a midnight blue frame with a charming garland of more roses on the vine. This rug is over 80 years old and in mint condition.  It is a true piece of artwork and a wonderful gem that can be placed on the floor, hung on the wall, or draped on a couch or chair.
