This stunning mint condition Persian Kashan is one of the finest quality vintage handmade rugs in our collection.  Hand-knotted in the 1950s by master weavers, this rug is a signed piece (in a delicate flourish  in all 4 corners of the rug) made with top quality wool that is as soft as velvet with a full pile that is sturdy enough to withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations.  It is handmade with superior craftsmanship and only natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand.  The ivory backdrop is an elegant setting for the wide array of colors that create a perfectly symmetrical floral and vine design in cornflower blue, ocean blue, sky blue, pale yellow, ballet slipper pink and pink lemonade, pale mint green and countless other colors.  The central flower medallion is hand-knotted in all of the rug's colors, starting with a delicate ivory, blue and pomegranate bloom surrounded by a layer of pomegranate, which leads to a layer of deep ocean blue before the ivory open field.  Each concentric layer is full of small petals, leaves and floral sprays and bouquets that swirl throughout the open field in all of these magnificent colors. The corners are a perfect echo of the medallion, drawing the eye to the beautiful pomegranate border.  The border is a perfect and elegant compliment to the rug, with its gorgeous and abundant garland of flowers, leaves and elegant flourishes, itself framed by blue rows of small flowers on the vine.
