This handmade vintage fine quality Persian Sarough has a stunning Sheikh Safi medallion design and a spectacular luminous color palette.  The rug is in mint condition. Hand-knotted by master weavers, this rug is made from high quality wool, superior craftsmanship and only natural dyes. The floral and vine design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand. The medallion follows the pattern of the inside of the famous Sheikh Safi mosque's cupola, shaped like beautiful leaves surrounding a flower in perfect symmetry. The elegant colors have a luminous sheen thanks to the quality of the wool.  Rich dark royal blue is the color of the background, the perfect setting for the medallion in turquoise, pink lemonade, olive green, raspberry, teal, sky blue, pale mint green, and countless other colors. These colors form the petals of the medallion in alternating combinations of blues and pinks, continuing on throughout the rug's blue field in perfectly symmetrical swirling floral sprays and bouquets of flowers on the vine.   The raspberry border has an elegant floral and vine garland in all of the rug's beautiful colors, framed by thin rows of turquoise and ivory with their own charming small flower garlands.  The rug has a full, soft and sturdy pile that can withstand high traffic and will last for generations.  Size:  8'9"x11'11"
