This is an elegant top quality round rug handmade in India.  This brand new area rug has a thick and soft pile that is soft underfoot. It can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The contemporary geometric design is inspired by antique Persian rug compartment designs that date back to the 16th century. The central medallion is surrounded by six symmetrical smaller spheres. These radiate out into intricately adorned panels or compartments that shift throughout the rug.  Scrolling arabesques and vines, stylized flower motifs and an ornate border evoke ancient decorative traditions with a modern twist.   The elegant, earthy color palette combines deep burgundy and red wine with muted sage, olive, gray-green, charcoal, warm taupe and soft brown.  Ivory and black accents and outlines add depth and brightness throughout. The dark border has an elegant repeating geometric compartment design with curvilinear ribbons. The border perfectly reflects and elevates the rug's design in the same earthy colors, all of which are made from only natural dyes.
