This is a stunning and very fine quality handmade brand new Afghan Kazakh runner.  Hand-knotted by Afghan expert tribal weavers, this rug is made with fine quality wool and a sturdy tribal weave that will last generations and can withstand high traffic.  The allover tribal and nomadic design is based on antique Caucasian rug patterns that date back centuries.  Note the abundance of intricate and charming details in brilliant colors, such as star and leaf motifs, ram's horns and flowers.  Made with only natural dyes, the rug is a series of colorful squares with their own colorful medallions.  Teal green, strawberry red and aqua blue provide the backdrops for the squares, and each one is adorned with small tribal details in additional shades of tangerine, yellow, champagne, midnight blue, purple and countless others. The natural variation in dyes that occurs in a few areas is known as abrash, a hallmark of handmade rugs that use natural dyes.  It adds to the truly one of a kind handmade nature of the rug.  The border is a beautiful complement to the rug's design and a highly decorative feature. The creamy ivory  frame of colorful geometric flowers on the vine is itself framed by this blue rows of tiny colorful flowers.  Size: 2'9"x7'6"
