Yellow Flowers

This is a stunning fine quality handmade vintage Caucasian Shirvan.  It is the "real deal" that many of today's contemporary geometric rugs try to mimic.  Hand-knotted in the 1960s, this rug is in mint condition.  The fine quality wool is soft and supple, with a sturdy tribal weave that will continue to last generations and can withstand high traffic.  The allover tribal and nomadic design has an abundance of intricate and charming details in brilliant colors.  Made with only vegetable and other natural dyes, the rug is predominantly shades of indigo blue, bright orange and cherry red.  The wonderful decorative tribal motifs are hand-knotted  in gold, white, silver, black, rust, and bright pink, sprinkled throughout with all of the deep reds, blues and oranges.  The natural variation in dyes is a hallmark of handmade vintage vegetable dyes, and it adds to the truly one of a kind handmade nature of the rug.  Small  pinwheel-like flowers, geometric leaf and vine and arrow motifs are symmetrically woven throughout the rug for a harmonious and happy effect. The border has ribbons of tiny repetitive geometric motifs in many of the rug's colors - small waves and diamonds create a perfect frame. Size: 3'6"x5'9"
