This is a fine quality handmade Afghan Kilim runner in mint condition.  The bold tribal and geometric allover design is highly detailed with intricate rows of color and design, wave-like motifs and interlocking rectangles, along with a series of diamond-like central medallions known as 'guls', which often represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains.  A rich deep orange is the primary color, accompanied by golden yellow and rust, a beautiful combination of rustic autumnal colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  Flat weave and thin pile, also typical of Kilims, this runner is still great for high traffic areas and will continue to last for generations.
