This is a fine quality vintage handmade Afghan Bahor accent rug. Hand-knotted in the villages of Northwest Afghanistan, rugs such as these have been made by tribal weavers for generations. The bold tri-medallion geometric design is hand-knotted with on a rich crimson red backdrop. Emerald green, coffee, plum, navy blue and bright white bring the patterns to life with intricate motifs. The border is made of three concentric layers, a plum row with white and red diagonal lines framed by red rows of navy blue geometric designs. Made by hand with 100% camel hair and only vegetable and other natural dyes, this sturdy rug can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The camel hair is soft and durable and easy to maintain. The versatile size makes for a great entrance, hallway, kitchen, foyer, bathroom, office, etc. This rug has several areas of light distress, which adds to the authentic one of a kind handmade nature of the rug. There is some minor color running, slight imperfections on the binding and a slightly uneven edge one one side. See last photo for detail. Size: 2'9"x5'1"
