This geometric bold repeating design is a hallmark of tribal rugs from this region in Northwest Afghanistan.  The detailed designs within diamonds within rectangles are bordered by several ribbons of small repeating geometric wave and floral motifs.  The colors pop in this vibrant design -  cherry red, chestnut, royal blue, copper and white, colors all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.
